Manchester-based NSI Nails has been at the forefront of advancing nail product technology for over 50 years. Their goal is to provide a product range that enables the professionals who use their products to operate more efficiently and profitably, whilst still utilising high-quality nail products for their clients. The nail industry itself is incredibly fast paced, with technicians often working for long periods of time with very little downtime. NSI Nails' products are one way in which the business enables technicians to relieve some of the pressure and intensity of the industry their customers work in. They also wanted to be able to give their customers a more efficient way to obtain these products too.
A successful launch of an ecommerce site, built on the Magento 2 Open Source platform and integrated into their SAP back office system had provided real reach to NSI's customers. NSI now wanted to ensure they were top of mind with their customers and at hand whenever they need to buy their products or book their courses.
In such a fast-paced industry, NSI Nails wanted to be able to give their customers an intelligent, straightforward, and fast way to access the products that they need. They didn't want their customers to become distracted or disheartened when searching for their products manually. They needed a solution that would allow their customers to access what they wanted as quickly as possible, without having to carry out a lengthy search process. They also wanted a way for their customers to re-order quickly and efficiently without having to re-build the order manually, all from the palm of the customers' hands. It was also vital that the solution was a positive and consistent representation of their brand, whilst maintaining good user and customer experience design throughout. NSI selected Appnetix to deliver a mobile app solution to meet these challenges.
The NSI Nails mobile application was built with leading edge technologies, principally Flutter and Dart. Flutter is a UI framework developed by Google that enables seamless cross-platform development for both Android and iOS devices, all using a single codebase. The framework is a powerful tool for specialist developers that allows us to utilise an enhanced development process and work in real-time, which gives Appnetix the ability to work closely with its clients throughout the entire process. When developing the NSI Nails mobile application, Appnetix used the Dart programming language, which has outstanding performance and efficiency. The combined use of Flutter and Dart enabled Appnetix to take advantage of a highly responsive development platform that allowed us to work consistently throughout the process with powerful testing capabilities, including elements such as backend system integrations. This was a key aspect of the development process for NSI Nails, allowing us to optimise the app and ensure that we could implement proper integration prior to release.
The solution allowed NSI's customers to access the app at any time, no matter where they are. This allows them to place orders, check product availability, and track their orders and shipments on the go. This in itself promoted a seamless buying experience aimed at delivering enhanced customer satisfaction. But we also implemented effective technology that would take that accessibility even further. The NSI Nails mobile application enables their customers to scan the products they use through the app, and provide them with a quick, intuitive way to order them.
The mobile app we developed for NSI Nails allows their customers to browse their range quickly and efficiently, as well as enabling direct ordering from the palm of their hands. We built the app to also integrate with their existing Magento Open Source store and back end systems.
